Following your Fairfax breast implant surgery, you will need to allow yourself adequate time to rest. Greater detail will be provided during your breast augmentation consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Roberta Gartside, but having a general idea of recovery times can be helpful when initially considering this procedure.
Recovering from Breast Implant Surgery
Your recovery from breast implant surgery will be dependent on a number of factors including your body’s natural healing ability, the placement of your breast implants, and the location of your incisions.
Some swelling and mild discomfort is common in the first few days following breast implant surgery. Swelling can be minimized by wearing compression garments, applying ice-packs, taking gentle walks, and allowing yourself time to rest. Discomfort can be dealt with through pain medications provided by Dr. Gartside.
Most women are able to return to work within one week, but strenuous exercise will need to be avoided for up to two months. Dr. Gartside will work with you during your recovery to help ensure your continued comfort.
Everyone heals differently. During your breast augmentation consultation with Dr. Gartside, what you may expect during your recovery period will be discussed in more detail.
