Coming as no surprise, breast augmentation remains the most popular plastic surgery procedure, with over 279,000 surgeries performed in 2015. However, for the first time since 2010, tummy tuck surgery has edged facelift in popularity and was the fifth most commonly performed aesthetic surgery in the United States last year. There were no real surprises in the top five nonsurgical cosmetic treatments in 2015. These were:
- Botox® Cosmetic
- Dermal fillers
- Chemical peels
- Laser hair removal
What is surprising is the remarkable growth in popularity these treatments have enjoyed since 2000, with BOTOX® Cosmetic alone seeing a 759% increase over that year.
