Blepharoplasty Procedure In Virginia
Blepharoplasty, also known as an eyelid lift or eyelid surgery, is a procedure that can greatly enhance the appearance of your eyes. With blepharoplasty, Virginia plastic surgeon Dr. Roberta Gartside can remove sagging skin and dark circles underneath the eyes and reduce the drooping appearance of upper eyelids. The end result is a more youthful and alert look that can help rejuvenate your entire face.
If you would like more information on enhancing the appearance of your eyes, please contact New Image Plastic Surgery Associates, PLC or call 703-742-8004 to schedule your Virginia blepharoplasty consultation with Dr. Gartside.
What to Expect
Your Virginia blepharoplasty procedure will be performed while you are under sedation. This helps ensure your ultimate comfort during a procedure that can take upwards of two hours.
Once you have been made comfortable, Dr. Gartside will make small incisions along the natural folds around your eyelids, allowing for the removal of excess skin and fatty tissue. Once unnecessary and unsightly tissue has been removed, Dr. Gartside will use small sutures to close the incisions.
Sutures are generally removed within six days, but full results from your blepharoplasty may not be visible until all bruising and swelling has subsided. Dr. Gartside will discuss the best ways to reduce postoperative swelling and speed recovery during your initial consultation.
