How Soon After Breast Augmentation Can I Exercise?
Following your Virginia breast augmentation procedure you will need to give yourself time to rest. During your recovery period, exercise and other strenuous activities can be hard on your body and may even negatively impact the final results of your procedure.
Recovery from breast augmentation is an individual matter and may be very different from woman to woman. However, as a general rule, it is best to wait six to eight weeks before you begin a more energetic exercise routine. Bear in mind that there is no hard-and-fast rule for this. Vigorous activities in general should be avoided until Dr. Gartside gives you the go-ahead.
Mild Forms of Exercise
During your breast augmentation recovery period mild forms of exercise can help speed healing and reduce swelling. Walking in particular can be beneficial and can often be done several times a day beginning 24 hours after your procedure. During your breast augmentation consultation Dr. Gartside will be happy to answer any questions you have about recovery and to discuss physical limitations you may experience following surgery in greater detail.
